Good or Evil, choose your side
Ok, firstly, i would like to see some involvement on the evil side in the new story. I am fed up with saving the world, i want to cause some destruction! Think what Heroes offered with Hero and Villain sets in the GW world.
You could choose your allignment when creating the character, be it for the forces of good, or the forces of evil. With each allignment offering different armour types (fierce dark dragon stuff for evil, light golden armour for good).
Now, i would suggest a PvP against good or evil at certain outposts in order to ease new players into the GvG. However, we all know how frustrating it can be organising groups, so maybe make them hench or hero compatible? With the winner of the PvP progressing to the next stage of the storyline.
This PvP could tie into the story by creating some kind of war within the story, hence the warring sides PvPing.
Also, further on within the story, each character could have the chance to switch sides (allowing access to different armours and different endings), with this being encompassed within the story as a vigilante group growing unrestful within the allegiance. Thus, a kind of civil war PvP could be introduced to help the storyline flow.
Please feel free to add, flame or just generally abuse this suggestion.

Sounds a lot like Factions, only you had Kurzik and Luxon, instead of Good and Evil.
And I always have a hard time taking anyone who calls themselves a "Master of Evil" seriously.

Sounds interesting; just hope they could keep the two opposing sides from reverting to a remake of Factions.

I don't like the idea of choosing your alignment when you create your character, but it could be cool to be able to choose your alignment by the decisions you make. But maybe that would be too similar to KoTOR

I like that idea. The decisions you make during the missions set your alignment. But then again, this would require a huge mission re-vamp where missions became open ended. Unless of course, you were able to attack them useless NPC's wandering around all the time. And how many of us have attacked a harmless 'green' animal just for the sport... +1 evil for you all my friends

The real problem with this is that it changes the game into a pvp only concept or requires multiple servers like wow. There really is no way to add a villian to the pve and move through the current story lines acting against the set out goal of each quest/mission.
My idea on this would be to have the next chapter allow you to pick a side like in factions, but when creating a pve char you would start in a differnt location and have oppisite goals in missions as people on the other side. There would be no direct pvp in missions but after you reach the final mission you could 'convert' and play all the missions again from the oposit side.
This does sound much like factions but instead of diffent missions for each side they would be the same missions with differnt outcomes depending on what side you choose to play as.

If you invite the wolfs to dinner, theyl come and eat everything including you.
Stop being so negative at the end of your post :P
I like the idea of choosing good or evil, and I can actually think of a good way to use it.
We all know the car in prophercies somehow god ahold of powerful magic to destroy Tryia, or most of it.
Well how about we find out how.
Have a 4th installment, where we find out how they achieved this power. Not by actually doing a prequel, but by going through a story and an island where secrets have been kept from the world.
With good and evil at work there, and a people even older then the titans live there, hiding from the world because they made a mistake once and it cost tyria greatly.
Have us find out how the 5 gods got their power, and how they played a part in this great mistake. Bring the entire worship of the gods into turmoil and make people hate them once they find out the truth.
Then its your choice to either continue to worship them or to join the other side and try to defy them and possibly distroy them.
The result of which depends on your actions. Obviously the gods arent destroyed or that wouldnt fit into the storyline of the other games.
But if you choose to fight the gods, then you have to destroy the believers, destroy their shrines on the island, and the source of their true power.
If you choose good, you fight those trying to destroy them and protect the shrines.
It would be the ultimate battle in GWs. To save the 5 gods or to destroy them.
Obviously what ever the secret is would have to be pretty immense to make people stray away from them.
Perhaps one of the gods embowed this great power into a char leader, by mistake or on-purpose. For their own gain, or believing it to be the right thing.
Maybe they were tricked into giving away the power, or they left a great weapon unguarded and it fell into the wrong hands.
I expect it would be more devistating then that.
Plus there would have to be pretty immense consiquences to choosing your side. If you fight the gods, you cant access the UW or FOW, but you do get access to an equally powerfull realm.
Then we can have god battles. PvP battles between the waring sides. The results effecting the UW and FOW and access to it.
You would have a good and bad level. Like faction, it effects access to things.

Agree with OP completely. A more dynamic gameworld that's responsive to players choices and actions is always a good thing, as it provides lots of replayability. It's especially needed in an instance-heavy game like GW that's already short on player interaction/involvement when compared to other online games.
